The Fur Seal's scientific name is: Arctocephalus forsteri. Fur Seals, the only New Zealand native seal, are mostly found on rocky coasts. The male can grow between: 145-250cm long and can weigh up to 120-185kgs. Female Fur Seals grow up to 140cm long and weigh between: 40-50kgs.The babies are called Pups. The pups can grow up to: 40-45cm long and can weigh at birth time at 4.3kgs. Seals like to eat: fishes, squids, octopuses. Occasionally birds are eaten by Fur Seals as well.
